Task

Human Embryonic Stem Cells by CIRMStem cells have been the focus of controversy in the science community as well as the public sector (government) since the "promise" of stem cells curing such diseases as cancer. The question is:

As a research team of two scientists you will work together to

  1. Gather information about the current use of stem cells for cancer research.
  2. Gather supporting evidence to discourage or encourage the use of stem cells for cancer research.

The last item will take the most skill because it will be valuable to locate reputable sources of information to support your beliefs. (You should have already discussed in your Biology class about the cell and the ways in which it can be manipulated via genetics. If you do not remember genetics or cell biology check it out in your textbook)
